US Data Center Map
Where the U.S. data center buildout is happening.
I was curious where all the new data centers were going. How big they were, what that meant for the grid and water supply in those places, and how much of the announced pipeline would get built.
So I built the dataset, pulling from company announcements, utility records, planning documents, and local reporting. The map covers operating sites, projects under construction, and the announced pipeline, with power figures and context about the surrounding area.
It has since found an audience among researchers and journalists.
