Watchdog
ideaLLM-powered web page monitoring. Understands what changed, not just that something changed.
What
A self-hosted page monitor that uses LLMs to understand changes instead of doing text diffs. You describe what to watch and what you care about in plain English. It reads the page and pings you when something relevant happens.
Already running privately for things like product restocks and government page updates. Plan is to open source it.
Why
Existing tools like changedetection.io compare text. They’ll tell you a page changed. They won’t tell you the price dropped $200 or the restock date moved from March to April. Describing what matters in natural language and letting an LLM figure out relevance is a better fit for most monitoring tasks.
Where it stands
The core works and is running privately. Needs cleanup before it’s ready for other people to use: pluggable LLM providers, clear cost-per-check estimates, and a simple setup process.
